WHO WE ARE

LITTLE BY LITTLE,
A LITTLE BECOMES A LOT

We are a South African-born, female-owned upcycling brand finding magic where others see only waste. Welcome to the home of circular creativity.
Our Mission

The Current Crisis

The Problem
Fast fashion has normalised a throwaway culture that our planet simply cannot carry. Driven by a relentless demand for cheap, hyper-standardised garments, clothing is churned out, worn for a fleeting moment, and tossed aside. But this convenience comes at a devastating cost to our environment and communities, rooted in aggressive resource and labour extraction.

Here in Africa, we witness the end of this cycle firsthand, as mountains of discarded textiles from the Western world pile into our landfills. It is time to face the facts, champion a slower path, and rewrite fashion's future together.

WE CHOOSE A DIFFERENT PATH
At Little Treehugger, we are on a mission to tackle the textile waste crisis. By salvaging medical textiles and discarded fabrics headed for the landfill, we keep materials in circulation and lighten our planet’s load.

What We Value Most

Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet, consectetur adipiscing elit, sed do eiusmod tempor incididunt ut labore et dolore magna aliqua.

Diversity

Just as no two of our creations are exactly alike, we celebrate the beautiful variety of life. We believe our differences are what make our community, and our designs, truly special.

Upcycled

We rescue discarded fabrics and cast-off medical textiles to give them a beautiful second life. By finding value where others see only waste, we help keep usable materials out of the landfill.

Handmade

Every single piece is thoughtfully crafted with love and careful attention to detail. We treat every rescued scrap of fabric as something precious.

Locally Sourced Waste

We lighten the planet's load by rescuing materials right here in our own backyard. By utilising local offcuts and discarded textiles, every metre of fabric we save means less pollution and less waste.

Locally made

We are proudly born and ethically made right here in Durban. Our workshop provides green jobs and hands-on training, empowering local women and youth with meaningful work.

Transparency

We maintain complete honesty from the fabric’s origin all the way to the final stitch. You will always know your item was made ethically and with genuine respect for both our earth and its people.

How We Bring Your Pieces to Life

Unlikely materials deserve a second life. We're replacing throwaway culture with circular creativity, proving that true style is sustainable. Take a look "behind the seams" to see how we ethically transform discarded textiles into slow-fashion staples you’ll love.

Rescue the Forgotten

Rescue the Forgotten We salvage discarded textiles, like off cut fabrics and retired medical uniforms, long before they ever reach a landfill. By rescuing these durable materials, we lighten the planet's load and secure a high-quality, story-rich foundation for your new clothing and accessories.

Craft with Heart

Craft with HeartEach rescued fabric is lovingly hand-cut, dyed, and sewn into fresh designs by our talented artisans right here in Durban. This slow-fashion approach guarantees exceptional, ethical quality for your wardrobe while providing meaningful green jobs that empower our local community.

Celebrate Your Unique Impact

Rescue the Forgotten Because every scrap of fabric has lived a past life, no two Little Treehugger creations will ever be exactly alike. When you receive your handmade piece, you are getting a completely unique item that lets you wear your sustainable values with pride.

WEAR A STORY

Every piece we craft carries a soul. Instead of mass-produced uniformity, we offer one-of-a-kind creations reimagined from salvaged textiles. Crafted with care in our Durban workshop, no two Little Treehugger pieces are exactly alike. Discover our collection of slow, ethical accessories and find the piece that speaks to you.
